Grandie Caravan Park, Dufton – Location

The Park is situated 3 miles away from Appleby-in-Westmorland, offering public houses, shops, bank, bakery, butchers and takeaway.

Appleby also has a railway station which is on the beautiful Settle to Carlisle route.

In the village of Long Marton (3 miles away)is the local bakery selling pies, quiches and lovely homemade cakes.

Penrith is our next main town which is 20 minutes just down the A66, offering supermarkets, public houses, shops, a leisure centre and a cinema.

Dufton is a small village that nestles under the slopes of Great Dun Fell 12 miles from Penrith and 3 miles North of Appleby in Westmorland.

The Village is in the area known as the East Fellside – literally on the slopes of the northern Pennines below Cross Fell. The Pennine Way, Pennine Bridalway and the Sustrans Pennine Cycleway all pass through the village. Dufton is in an area which is still quiet and remote from the heavy tourist and business traffic to be found on the A66 and in the Lake District which is only about 30 mins away.

The Village is in an area of outstanding natural beauty which in which can be seen Red Squirrels, Deer, many different type of Hawk and Owl, Foxes, Badgers.

The village lies about 180m above sea level, aligned roughly East-West round a rectangular shaped green bisected diagonally by an avenue of lime trees. The main feature of which is the fountain.
